Our story
Jeanne Sheila Uwibona is a founder of Ubuntu Women Farmers Ltd, the company behind the flagship brand Sheila’s Honey.
What began with just a few hives has grown into a recognized brand that combines climate-smart beekeeping with community empowerment. In response to climate change, we relocated our bees to forest areas, protecting biodiversity while enhancing the quality of our honey.
Sheila’s Honey is not only about producing honey; it is about impact. Our initiatives include:
- Empowering women farmers through training and income-generating opportunities.
- Supporting women and children with disabilities by promoting inclusivity in our programs.
- Partnering with BCIEA to raise awareness on breast cancer prevention and care.
- Collaborating with GIZ, whose support with training and equipment has strengthened our production capacity and enabled us to scale.
